Tent State University?
Tent State is a positive, youth-led, effective answer to the war. It is not an organization, but a creative model to engage the country to finally force an end to this war while building towards the type of institutions we are fighting for. Tent State serves as an "alternative university." It will be built on campuses across the nation this spring and host a truly "democratic" Convention this August in Denver. One of Tent State's strongest assets is its ability to interest and engage seemingly apathetic people as well as bring together a politically diverse group of people.
Local Tent States
Locally Tent State's will serve as a base of opposition to the war as well as a tool to push local issues and campaigns while drawing connections with the war. Local Tent State's have been instrumental in restoring higher education funding, rising the issues of fair pay for university staff, and ending unethical contracts on campus. The local Tent State's are also heavily involved with the "inside" aspect of our strategy.
Tent State Concerts
Tent State is working with artists, promoters, and venues to organize summer concerts across the country to engage the maximum amount of people to come to Denver. Check back often for updates on cities and dates as they become available.
Come to Denver to end a war!
Tent State University (TSU) will be built this August outside the Democratic National Convention in Denver, Colorado. TSU will serve as an "alternative university," a space in which to experience real democracy, a staging area for actions and protests towards the DNC, a venue for musical artists, political theatre, and town hall democracy, multiple '"classrooms" to share and learn tactics and strategies to immediately end the war, and housing for tens of thousands of activists dedicated to holding the parties accountable.Tent State University will host tens of thousands of activists. We are progressive democrats, greens, anarchists, students, socialists, soldiers, daughters, and brothers. While we may carry different ideologies or creeds, we are united in a firm determination to end this war.
